Sean Nós

Sean Nós Dancing, singing and lilting has been around for centuries but over the last years has been forgotten to an extent.
In past times, people would gather in houses in the evening and someone might sing a song, lilt a tune or there might be an accordion, Jew’s harp or fiddle player. During the music people would get up and dance a set. Stories would be told late into the night. The floors were of Flagstones and often the Half door would be taken down, or a half barrel rolled in to dance a step on.

Today the Cunningham Family from Cashel, connemara are reflecting back on these days and bringing it to you in a new, exciting contempory version in the form of 'Fuaim Na Chuinneagáinaí, The cunningham Sound'.
